The Self Portrait

Inspired by our visiting artist GRONK and his La Tormenta series students were asked "What is a self portrait?"  We discussed public and private personas and examined the works of Gronk ,Cindy Sherman, Frida Kahlo and Lee Friedlander , Finally Introduction to  Digtial Photography students were required to create an interpretive self portrait (one that conveys the personality / or makes a statement) . Students were required to use angles, light, environments , body language , props and symbols as a means  to convey the abstract . Students were also required to use a tripod and the camera self-timer when completing part two of this assignment .
